I know these are pretty straight forward but not having fitted one before I thought I would ask first.
Looking on TLC I think ill go for bandera door time and the TC TRV transformer. Transformer will be about 10mtrs from the chimer. And using alarm cable doubled up.
This chimer has a separate sound for the back door, I was thinking of using this with a simple magnetic door contact for an entry chime. Question is, would this work.
Just got too find a nice button now :)
If you have any preferences with using certain makes or models what are they? Only want a wired system.
Thanks
Phill

My fault, woops! Although in my defence the circuit symbol shown is a standard normally open switch. Daz

The only problem I can see with this setup and i am most probably wrong is will the chime keep belling out if the contact is left open, and if using multiple contacts in series, one won't activate if another contact is already open.

Have you considered getting a decent sized bit of paper and a pencil and drawing the circuit out?

THEN maybe you'll see how it all works - or not?

Not being too clued up on electronics I'm still going through it slowly. Researching each component etc and then going through the drawing tazz kindly provided. Not fully got my head around it yet, but getting there.

Good lad.

Today, a door bell. Tomorrow, who knows.

I do indeed see a future Nikola Tesla in the making here.

Tomorrow I'm building a transformer.
Come to think of it I've already got one, she turns into a different monster at the blink of an eye. And I'm still not sure which buttons to press so she tells me :)

Your first problem is hormone related (don't ask) As for your second one, you learn with experience which button to press so by the time you're my age you'll know exactly what to press, but you won't be able to remember why you pressed it.

Tazz your a proper gent. I did a btec back in college, on the electronics courses we had two tutors, one for practical and he was(sh!t hot and learnt a lot. The theory lad clearly wanted to kill himself and we all only passed so it would look good on the college and him. Learnt the basics and he made an interesting subject crap.
