I do some sub contract work for two different contractors. One of which insists on using capping in dot and dab buildings, the other does not. Who is correct?
 
There is no regulation that says you have to cap the cables, but it is a better job, regulation or not I will always do it. Although saying that I dont usually bother with capping the bonding cables, it depends on how i am feeling and how much capping I have left I suppose.
 
would paint be classified as protectoin from sunlight as that seems to be the most commonly adopted form of protection?
Also seems to be a good form of protection on internal cables installed by DIYers.
 
. . . . getting back to the original post, there are a lot of opinions , but no real definitive answer, and by that I mean there does not seem to be any direction from the regs book or from a building regs perspective, unless I am missing soemthing?
