I am putting up 2 security lights, 1 front 1 back and for ease of cabling It would be best to take each light into the cu separately and share the mcb.

Is this allowed??
 
Why wouldn't it be allowed?

As long as the current carrying capacity of the cable isn't exceeded by the MCB then it is fine.

Very common practice actually, I don't do it though, that aside I have seen 5x 2.5mm2 cables in a breaker before and wasn't impressed lol.
