Thank you just what i needed to hear positive and reliable information i can take on a board. Thank you Andy78

No worries. Be sure to come back and update this thread or a new one with your assessment experiences. It may help others in the same boat, and it's always interesting to hear how in depth assessment procedures currently are.

I've got mine next week. Who have you gone with? I registered with stroma and they rang me today to book in my assessment next week. Suits me really as I'm going on holiday after that. Ill just be making sure that I've got all my paperwork, cal certs etc to hand and take it from there. If your work is of good standard and you know what your on about then there should be no problems.

No offence, but any work that falls under part p of the building regs has to be notified to the LBA within less than one month. If Storma can assess you and allow you to complete the notification within this time fair game to them..

Not registered with a scam...
What does this mean?

Scam in this thread is a twist on the word Scheme i.e. Scam Provider... All of these companies are profit motivated and all have reputations for putting profits before what they actually stand for this leaves many less than competent companies trading under their name and they fail when it comes to ejecting members for poor and dangerous workmanship because you guessed it they loose money.
The quickest way to get booted from a scheme provider is to miss some payments.

Alot of members remember the days of one main body the NICEIC, it was non-profit at the time and you had to show your worth to hold your membership then all that disappeared for the mess we have today where your charged extortinate rates to do your job and be allowed to work and sign off jobs.

Hence sometimes you see the term Scam provider - its not in anyway a jest at anyone posting just a jovial notion of what these schemes actually represent.
