just wondering if there was a live/earth fault on a house would the voltage show up on the next house that happend to to be on the same phase of a tn system?
Phase wouldnt make any difference....if there was a rise in potential on the earthing system of the house with the fault, and the adjacent houses were connected to the same earthing network, they may also be subject to the same rise in potential until the fault cleared.
ah thought so and also the other propertys rcd wouldn't operate because its only monitering live/netral,
I read somewere about the new amendment and its going to include surge protection units on new builds which protect against over voltage by lightening strikes and electrical switching, any idea how electrical switching would cause over voltage?
