Yep used one on a job the other month, it was typical thought the ground was going to be really hard turns out it was as soft as butter, could have push the bloody thing in with a finger :mad: Lucky I didn't have to pay for it shame they don't do one for SDS Plus!!!
 
I have only used the type that fit on a demolition hammer

I wouldn't have thought an SDS hammer would ooph to drive a rod in to anything but soft ground

The last rod driver I used was made from bits out of a steel fabricators scrap bin basically a piece of 50mm O.D. tube about 600 - 700mm long and three steel discs 12mm thick and 250mm Dia welded on one end. Used it as a slide hammer and it would put rods in effortlessly. It was the best one I have used unfortunatly someone else thought so as well and borrowed it on a permanant basis (nicked it)
