Hello Everyone ,

Thanks in Advance for any help given it is very much appriecated !

I am mainly a domestic electrician working on houses , Recently we have been asked to do the earthing arrangements for a freestanding brick built substation for a single transformer ! Now lets get this straight I know very little and an open to any help , I am helping to price this up , Its basically all Furse stuff , TC0C0 Tape 25x3mm and TC035 Tape 25x4mm , with a 6 way earth bar , earthed to the rebar , earthing to doors , with two earthing pits with 2400mm rods 5/8IN

I am wondering what the test procedures on this installation would be and how they would be carried out ?
I know the maximum resistance is 1 ohm , But what are the correct test procedures to follow ?

Many Thanks Again !

If only I had your guys knowledge !

All joking aside mate.............well............nearly all lol

Who is..... '(we)have been asked' and who asked you?
Do they know you are domestic or have you blagged the job?

I'll just ask a simple question to the OP, to show him just how far out of his depth he is!!

What system will this earthing arrangement be connected too, the MV side, the LV side, or Both??

BTW, what size TX is going into this sub station??

I don't think it will work with only one stake unless some meters have different operating parameters. It doesn't necessarily have to be a stake...
