I have to fit a power shower as a replacement to an existing one. The shower is rcd protected, measured zs reading is within acceptable limits, for a 0.4 second disconnection time, but the main earthing conductors to the gas and water are not up to current spec. Will I have to change them? or will they be ok left, given that the zs is ok?? cheers jim

If it is not an identical replacement ie addition or alteration then yes you have to upgrade earth and bonding. If it is an identical replacement and the present bonding/earth show no sign of of overheating and were correct at time of previous install i believe it is not an absolute must - however i would encourage the client to upgrade.
