Discuss EICR - time taken to complete in the Periodic Inspection Reporting & Certification area at ElectriciansForums.net

well i thought is just 5 pages including guidance note for recipients.. suppose how many faults and how many circuits you have= more pages for observations and reccomendations

Just completed my 1st EICR today with 5 D/B's it has taken me hours to complete.i test all over country doing theese tests for eg.a hotel with 0n average 30 D/B's i think its time to hang my tester up .

I've got to do a office complex next week with two 36 way DB's and a couple of sub boards in server rooms.....reckon the paperwork..(NIC click software)...will take at least a day.

Theres me feeling sorry for myself with my little domestic inspection, good luck, hope you have good battery life on you p.c thingy or whatever

I did one today, 30 circuits 2 boards, 8am - 6pm now I understand what the lads are moaning about ( yes I do get off my arse now and again! )

If your NICEIC registered, there is nothing stopping you from using the PIR's until June 1st 2012.
I have a strange feeling the new EICR is going to turn into a VHS vs BETAMAX type of war. (For those of us old enough to remember that lol.)U turns are starting to happen, and I have a sneaky suspicion that somebody in the land of the gods is going to realise that there are a lot of creases that need ironing out before they can say this EICR is an improvement over the PIR.
I for one, having completed both, can honestly say the old PIR is the better cert. (At the moment) Thats why I reckon your going to see changes to it. They have pushed this through way too soon I.M.H.O.
To me it's like comparing a multiple choice exam paper to a written exam.
I know which one I have the greater respect for.

One of my clients has about 30 houses/flats. He has told me of a website offering inspections from ÂŁ65. He is going to send me the details- maybe I can get them to do my inspections from now on & add my little bit. Doooow
