Hi,

I've had an extension built and the 2nd fix electrical is all done and all the electrician needs to do is test and issue cert. Problem is I can't get hold of him.

I have tried asking other electricians if they will test but all so far have refused as they didn't do the design and install. Its all that's holding up my completion cert. from the council.

Other than track him down, what can I do? I have photos of 1st fix and the design, which I guess is no good.

Cheers

James

Would one of the 3 signature jobbies do in this instance?
Design, Install & I&T
According to my scam,No they are for firms were someone designs someone else in fir constructs and another signs for I&T and signs then taking responsibility that its all been done to regs and all stages should be supervised by person who does the I&T

But we all know that in larger firms nobody is ever supervising the process but it will be there head on the block

As I asked last year as a spark i know wanted me do all the testing for them Elecsa say No would have to be working for them and see work at all stages or subby for them and do the same and unless you did see work at all stages why would you want to be responsible for someone else's work

So when his other side wakes up he can sign it himself or he will realise he isnt qualified or competent, registered enough to I&T, Cert probabaly no calibrated test equipment and notifying isnt a option as he has no scheme membership

Why cant he just pay LABC to send someone to I&T and cert his work as it states in the Part P document as they are obviously involved

Or the builder did it lol and he cant do any of above

So now his only option a EICR for many bucks involving lots of Inspecting and testing with required remedial work of course for extra ££££
