Electric Cooker not heating...

W

whazza22

Any ideas?

Sister called to say the cooker is not heating. The hobs work fine and so does the grill but the oven isn't.

Going to pop over tommorrow.

Any help would be great ;)

Thanks

Cooker element?

Take a low ohms meter with you and do a resistance test on the element.

Eg. If you have a 2.5Kw element then by Ohms law, you need to look for a resistance on the element of about 21 Ohms in a healthy element.

230V/10.86A = 21 Ohms

also, if element reads OK, check switch which will have a stat tube, burnt connectors are a fav.
