Anyone on here install electric gates? I could do with a bit of info if anyone has time could you pm me, cheers guys

What sort of power are the motors on a double swing open gate, I know they vary alot but just a rough guide would be good to know, also on the communication side of things is it just a cat 5 from phone to gate control box ? It's a drive way about a car and a half wide, Thanks guys

are you talking about the leaf weight they can open etc or the actual ratings for cable sizing ?

as for the gate controls they pretty much just need a n/o relay from an intercom or ocker s/w.. there are settings on the board as to whether it would open/close or open/stop/close/stop if that helps?

so would i need a cat 5 or something else from house? i have in my head a 230v supply to the gates and a swa cat 5 from house to gates for intercom/gate opener from house? would this be sufficient

most acces companies now do a gsm system for gates no wiring involved there is a company called nice do a 24v remote gate openig system the battery is powered by a small solar panel never fitted one but the idea sounds good.
