Hi all.

Great forum, really useful! Just bought an ex rental property which was in a bit of a mess. We're replacing the electric oven and gas hob. No real modifications are being done, but just wanted a sanity check on the wiring for these appliances.

Does the below look acceptable in terms to the current regs? It's exactly as previously installed, from new build I assume, but just wanted to double check.

Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers.

Re: Gas Hob, Electric Oven

Thanks!

Came across it after a search. Didn't want to be "that guy" who starts a new thread for something that has been discussed numerous times before! ;-)

I see nothing to worry about with the set-up but we could do with knowing the fuse size protecting it and how the 6mm cable is installed to the 45amp switch to confirm the rest of the circuit is ok.

looks OK but i'd prefer the dual socket outlet be replaced by a cooker connection point ( hard wired) for the oven and a single socket for the hob ignition. these could be fitted to a dual box like this:

Cheers guys.

32A MCB on the CU (radial, dedicated for cooker). The 2G socket has 6mm T&E to the load side of the 45A Cooker Switch. I presume this is to future proof for a higher power oven?

It's a brand new Indesit oven fitted with the flex and 13A fuse. I know there's great debate on invalidating the warranty from cutting off the mounded plug, so that's why I was happy with just using the 13A 2G socket in the cabinet.

as the oven comes with a fitted plug top, then it's fine to plug it in as you originally said.
