An electrical installation certificate and if you are in England or Wales - Part P certificates.

Why the question?

in England and waiting on electrician to complete wiring to the new part of the build. Is there a sample of what the certificate(s) look like so I know we have the correct documents for the council?

thank you for responding fast

You should be talking to the spark or builder - if the spark says he's going to give it to the builder ............. you need to make sure the builder gives it to you...........

Are your local building control involved?

the electrician stated he will provide the electrical installation condition report/certificate which is 2 pages that go to the council to approve, is this correct or I need to ask for additional paper work, if so which specific ones? and do you have a sample of what it looks like?

so you should receive a EIC ( electrical installation certificate) which is generally about 6 pages including schedule of tests. the electrician then notifies the work through niceic or whichever scam he's in and you then eventually receive a completion certificate from building control.

As Murdock has already stated , you should have a building regulations compliance certificate (part P for domestic works) and an electrical installation certificate

does the Part P come from the council? or the electrician should provide it. We have direct contact with the council so my advise was to forward the 2 page EICR to the council for final approval. If I need an EIC as well as an EICR then I will contact the electrician, or a Part P certificate too? if the electrician has to provide that?

thanks in advance.
