What type of cables are you allowed to use for 240v & 415v cable installation in quarries.
Example 240v lighting and for 415v motors.

I would treat work in cabins and offices as commercial and external works/plant etc as industrial, but we need more from you about cable runs and methods etc

will it comply with regulations to wire up 415v motors from the control panels to the motor with H07RN-F rubber cable in a quarry.

Aye there were a good few pits near me.
Happy days standing on top of the cage all the way down to the shaft bottom checking the cables and brackets etc...............

Now I'm not allowed on the 1st rung of a ladder without hardhat/safety harness/specs/safety boots/2 sentries and the whole area cordoned off !!!
lol

and as bllody harnees on a cherry picker. as if you're too stupid as not to ensure you don't fall out of the cage.

I used to hate that - it was so greasy. I knew a bloke who didn't have a harness and ended up at the pit bottom. I don't think he had time to inspect much on the way!

No, it must be armoured earthed at both ends.

Flexible un-armoured cable must be kept to no longer than 300mm unless reasonably practicable.

Yes we did mate but I was on about a 2 rung step ladder !!!!!

ladder!

You should be using a podium tower. Ladders are for access not working platforms!

(sorry had 9months on a balfour beaty site this year and had **** like that everyday.
Gloves/Glasses/Hardhats/Hi VIS/Podium Towers/No Steps/No radio/Everything PAT tested.
I'm working in a school class room FFS!!! there are kids in the next room using pens with no gloves on !!!!!)

If you are interested in installing cables in quarries, take a look on Google for a company called Plymouth Bishop , they are an American manufacturer(with a site in Europe-Spain as well) of Cable protection covers, specialist tapes and cable jointing kits, I have a friend in Tennessee that works with them supplying to mines and quarries in America, so if you have any questions I can ask him....and maybe sort anybody who wants out with some freebies/cheap materials....

AND NO THIS IS NOT ME "ADVERTISING" which I see some other posts doing on this site now and then, I am making my useful contacts available to other sparks and Electrical industry workers to try to be helpful...
