Electrical Contractor Schemes – Recommendations

Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations, my boyfriend has set up an Electrical company, after being JIB qualified and working mainly on industry for the past 12 years, he decided to go it alone.
He’s done his 17[SUP]th[/SUP] and Part P, and now we need to register him in an Electrical contractors scheme, so I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations? I’m currently looking at Napit, as this seems to be the most reasonable pricewise, but if anyone could offer any advice it would be much appreciated.

The reason I’m posting and not him, is that business has picked up very quickly and he’s is working all the hours, so I’m trying to run all the admin side for him, and I’m just having abit of trouble knowing whats best with regards to the schemes, also with him being relatively new to testing, he doesn’t have much info on the schemes either.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I am with Elecsa and I like their down to earth approach, they are cheaper than Niceic and not so full of themselves.
Because they are associated with the Electrical Contractors association they provide a service for electrical contractors.
There is some discussion on here about Stroma's new scheme as it is cheap (but for how long?).
Napit seem OK but do require the 2391 (or their 2391 ish) within one year.
Do not know anything about BRE or BSI.

NICEIC for all us guys moaning about them the recognized Market leader.

If he is first starting out and just aimed at the domestic Installation market then Storma maybe worth a go. It is nearly half the cost of the other schemes and if he signs he get's a year out of it. As someone starting out it looks a very attractive scheme.

same here i am with Elecsa they offer the warranty to householders and so far have been very helpful and friendly.
