... that are inaccurate or make you laugh.

One of the DNO guys came out with "air insulated" the other day, and it made me think how daft and inaccurate it was. Two bare overhead cables not touching air insulated my 4rse!

It set me thinking that some of the accepted descriptions aren't really that descriptive. Consumer unit for example doesn't provide much information on what it is or does. I'm not keen on main switch, as if it's the first in line surely it should be master switch?

and yes, I have had far too much time on my hands working alone in Wales.

That would make you very old then MDJ as my tutor is retiring this year. I will always call it a ring final as it is a final circuit. Thats just the way I was taught I suppose :)
I said that in jest, I know a guy who is 27 and he teaches, I assumed and was wrong obviously that your tutor must have been a youngster to say such a silly thing, nothing against you at all simon, just your tutors views mate.

Starbursts, bloody opal fruits
Snickers, bloody marathon
will always say ringmain, periodic, yeb cant help it.
And the best one when t gave the mechanic my keys to repair van, how soon do you need it back, well i bloody needed it before it broke down, so you work it out.
And my last gripe with one of my customers it is a intercom system to get through gate and every day i press it and the same secretary says do you want letting in! no i just like to travel 2 miles because i like to hear your voice through the speaker.

This Is what the forum is for IMO a discussion on things. Although I have learned plenty at college I have also gained valuable knowledge off here on subjects we have not discussed at college. This forum is a great resource for information thanks to the experianced members on here
