Hi Guys,

Im after a bit of advice on a project that i am currently working on.

Basically i have a motor powered by a 12v battery which turns a shaft through a gearbox.

What i want to do is use an alternator, generator or something similar which is also attached to the shaft via a gearbox to charge the 12v battery.

Is this possible? Can i simply use another 12v powered motor and switch the polarity around to use it as a generator?

Thanks in advance,
Ryan

There are way's to have the battery continually being charged, but it would involve a suitable in-line charging unit being used across the battery. So you would need a source of power to supply the said charging unit...
