can someone tell me exactly what a electrician does... like with great detail... and what is their salary?... what is an average day at work like?

explain with lots of details =D.. the more the better
thanks, this will change my life....no like seriously

All depends on what area you're working in e.g domestic, commercial or industrial. Also you can be an installation electrician or a maintenance electrician, and then there are "specialist" fields where some electricians only do alarm systems or solar panels etc.

Kind of hard to answer your question regarding day to day activities tbh.

For salary round my area it's anything between £25k - £42k.

If you have a look at Thomas Nagy's videos on youtube, you will see what a domestic and commercial electrician does day-to-day. Thomas doesn't do a lot of industrial work, but industrial work is basically the same as commercial but with higher loads, motors, more three-phases electricity, and different (larger) forms of containment.

I can't think of any YouTube channels where the day-to-day design work that an electrician gets involved in is shown, but SparkyNinja's videos on the subject of "2396" shows you what you need to know to pass the exam - day-to-day it's just applying all of that knowledge to whatever requirements your customers have.

Nah no chance, I haven't got all week.

I'd love to help but you would need to spend an hour listing exactly what the job entails, I mean crikey where do you start, and to be fair the OP is in the states, it is different there, it is about Union membership and specific roles.

1) Cables and that
2) Occassional Shocks & Black Nails
3) Expected to perform miracles

Electrician, described.

Wage = 25K Plus depending on exp & role.
