Electrician to install EV charging point.

Hi, I'm looking to install an electrical vehicle charging point for my house. Can a local electrician do this for me or do a need a more specialist electrician? When I do google search for my area I get a lot of companies come up which seem to specialise at just fitting EV charging points.

An electrician can install an EVCP however there's a lot of paperwork and hoops to jump through for registration, claiming grants etc so it tends to be more specialised installers that do it.

If you are looking to claim the OLEV grant then the electrician needs to be approved and registered with the relevant body.

If not, any electrician that is knowledgeable, preferably done the C&G course, will be able to do it and provide an installation certificate, which is vital.
