UK What should I charge to install a EV charger

Hi I’ve been asked to quote and install a ev car charger on a domestic property as I haven’t quoted for one before and I usually do price work not day rate what would your recommend I charge it’s a fairly simple job as the main fuse is in the garage where the charger will be installed on the outside wall
Any help would be appreciated thank you

Forgot to mention that the client will be supplying the ev charger and new consumer unit

How much of your day will the installation tie you up for, including travelling to and from the job, showing them how to use the app, certifying the job etc?

Break it down.

It’s just a circuit, with an appliance on the end.

As above, though… it’s the setting up, the extra paperwork, the fact that if customer supplies, then is it a charge point that is allowed to be sold in UK?

The job is pretty local to me 15min drive the cert won’t take long as it’s only one circuit
It’s mainly the time taken to install the charger and the new consumer unit for the charger
Time I estimate half a day at most I will be doing other jobs on the property also but I normally quote price work and not day rate so I’ve been ok quoting the other stuff

Yes it’s an Anderson ev charger
I would normally charger £150 for a cert but as it one circuit would it be cheeky of me to charge the same
I don’t normally to hourly rate but more price work as I tend to work pretty fast so it doesn’t benefit me to charge hourly rate a lot of the time

And extra for notification? Its a new circuit plus a new consumer unit.

Is this an EXTRA CU _ ie a mini just for the EV - or are you replacing the whole existing house CU?

If not an hourly rate, work out your 'price', then deduct the known cost of the bits the client is supplying.

Testing/certification is not just a single circuit if you are putting in a dedicated CU as well but you'll know the client best!

Don't forget the cost of buying the Code of Practice, and the 2 days training course. Installing EV equipment is not the same thing as installing a normal load such as an electric shower.
And the notification to the DNO that a new EV charge point is being installed.

A day for sure. I recently installed an Anderson with dedicated CU. The run was a fair bit worse as I had to drop a section of ceiling and chop some stud work as they wanted the cable hidden within the house. However it took me one long day, and I still have to go back and cert. it/set up.

DNO forms etc. as mentioned too. It has caught me off guard how long it all took to be honest.
