Hmmm, intriguing.... the Turkish connection? Jan Sykes/Bev Timms? (I do a bit of stalking in my spare time).

Mods, feel free to delete my post if it's problematic.

the guy was bugging me quite a bit via PM on Navitron, I chipped in my 2p on the forums, wasn't up for getting any more involved.

I got involved with a sob story a while back which has just involved way too much of my time trying to lead her and citizens advice through the processes. Surely this is what we pay RECC to be doing.

Yes, there seem to be too many connections with multiple web personalities that all revolve around a common theme of posting distress messages on the internet.

S/he may, of course, simply have had a bad PV install, but the other coincidences are ringing alarm bells.

The Turkish Connection is into multiple levels of pretty serious fraud but whether any are related to UK PV remains to be seen.

Party A has complained about their PV install. The installer, Party B, put panels on a NE roof (in addition to 2 sets on SSW roofs) without any prior discussion/confirmation from Party A. Party B installed 4.27kWp of panels in total and says he will register this as 4.0kWp in order to 'help' Party A. Party B also appears to have ignored most of the RECC Code of Practice regarding quote/deposit/contract/complaints.

This is all as alleged by Party A with no input from Party B.

By some strange coincidence Party B also is a property developer in Turkey, associated with a development that has caused problems with claims of mis-selling to UK residents. A complex has been built, which appears to be designated as a 'hotel' by Turkish officialdom, but these have been sold as freehold apartments to non-Turkish nationals. These 'owners' cannot take possession and it is questionable as to whether they actually own anything and may have lost all their life-savings.

By yet another coincidence Party A also has property in Turkey/spends a lot of time there.

And Party A also spends a lot of time posting on a variety of internet fora for help with some rather odd problems.

Into the Turkish issue you can add a 'fake' firm of 'ambulance-chasing' solicitors (who offer 'recovery' of lost monies in return for ÂŁ5k up-front), media manipulation and contacts with people who have been inside for major fraud (Gresham), and more sock-puppets than you can shake a stick at.

At the moment some of this is conjecture and may be simple coincidences of names/location where there is little or no connection at all. But, all together, there are too many coincidences and alarm bells are ringing.

"Jan Sykes/Bev Timms" - "JevBan"

Okay, I may be naive but I really don't understand what's going on. I've read Ted's post a couple of times but I can't see what either party A or party B get out of this.

What am I missing?

My suspicion is that what we're dealing with here is a serial sucker for pushy salespeople who then gets ripped off and ends up using web forums to try to resolve the issue after the fact.

ie I'm almost certain they're genuine, but also do seem to have a bit of a history of similar stuff.

I gave my opinion on this a month ago, and have been ignoring PMs and emails since then from the navitron forum as frankly it ain't my problem, and I'm a bit sick of wasting time sorting problems out for idiots who sign their life away to a sharp talking sale person without doing any research.

RECC, NIC etc should be resolving this, it's specifically what they get paid to do.

Agreed re: NICEIC.

With the kind of report that he must have sent them, surely this would require an immediate site visit. I mean, he is talking about some of the bolts actually missing the timber. It's not like that is a small issue which needs tidying up.

IP address of JevBan appears to be pointing to Burnely/Blackburn area.

I thought it was Runcorn? According to Navitron, at least.

The Turkish connection is intriguing. An interesting freebie on their homepage (even if they can't spell "accommodation").

Weird thing is we have an apartment in Spain that I considered using as an incentive. Thank God I didn't use it - I'd hate th be associated with anything like this.
