This person requires some work. They've hopefully explained their skills and qualifications and what area they're in. Otherwise, what's the bloody point?

Can anybody point me in the right ditection for gaining that all important work experience? Finding it hard to catch a break.

I live in the West Midlands and would be happy to offer some free/cheap labour if it means I can get some experience and a foot in the door to the trade.

I am 25, hold my ecs labourers card and I am currently studying for my 2365.

I friend of mine whom of which had no experience and at the age of 37 went to college, Attained qualifications and his ECS card and gets work with an agency calls HAYS which is situated in Birmingham.
His been working through the agencies as a mate, and he gets a fair pay. I am light years ahead of him with qualifications and experience and I can not get a job with them simply because I do not have an ECS card. So trust me, apply to these agencies as you have the credentials to be on site.

I Booked for this Tuesday at West Bromwhich. Then I will attain a ECS Gold card. I was ok being self employed, never felt I needed ECS but work has gone quite and therefore applied for jobs, It did not matter I was NICEIC registered, No ECS card, No job. My CSCS card helped once but most ask for ECS.
"Sham" so why not just get your ECS card....?

Cheers

Hi Sham, I wasn't expecting any responses, so the tip is appreciated. I'll check HAYS and a few other local agencies out.

Good luck on your test. If it is the H&S your doing then I'm sure you will be fine

Agencies are scum not all are but a good portion of them are they treat you like cattle.

Your main objective is working for a Electrical Contractor ideally through the books or as a subcontractor direct.

El Davo send out letters to local Electrical contractors state what it is you want to do Domestic/Commercial/Industrial etc
