get the right crimps for the job then they wont moan
The day I find an in line crimp that has failed on solid cable I will stop using them
Never seen those inline connectors before, IMO I think they look professional, I tend to worry when I see through crimps inside a CU, not down to the integrity of the crimps themselves, but only because I have seen so many fitted terribly. But I think that's just me being scarred by bad experience and performing too many condition reports...
So it's not the fault of the crimp then is it?
Any fitting no matter what it is whether it be electrical, gas, water or bits on your car WILL have it's integrity compromised if it's been fitted by a muppet!!
Did you read what I said lol, (not down to the integrity of the crimps themselves), you just repeated my statement back to me lol
haha yeah, I did wonder what I'd said for a second lol
Agree about the newlec joint kits, had to use one the other week, had no option, screws poorly made and far too cramped for my liking.Agreed! was wondering which (if any ) product is specifically intended for solid? have used generic red/blue/yellow style for solid for years and never had a problem....same not to be said for screw-down connector blocks! Indeed have come across many in recent years that were completely unfit for purpose mainly due to poorly cut threads and crappy slots in screws. I fitted a newlec resin joint to a swa few weeks ago with just such issues...woke up in a cold sweat that night and went straight back next day and cut it out and used a Birkett one instead..slept better!
don't mind geordie. just log it down as senility. :smilielol5::smilielol5:
