I recently installed ‘FX20VE Downflow Fan Heater with Pullcord and Timer’ 6 in total and am wondering if there is any way of disabling the auto timer that keeps cutting out after 30 minutes. This is because the heating is intended to be controlled by a wall thermostat.

It will depend how the timer is integrated into the heater. If on a pcb it may not be that easy although probably not impossible if you know how to bypass. Whatever you do will void warranty and leave the heater operating outside the manufacturers intentions. Can you show a pic of one internally, personally I would replace with alternatives.

I'd agree with Westward. Also, the unit may not be intended to be run for several hours without any overheating issues, etc.

these heaters are designed with the 30 minute timer as a fire precaution should some old dear leave them switched on. apparently it's a new building reg. i had to fit one last week, and the wholesaler's stock were all with cut off timers.
