Fast Course Qualifier in need of advice

Hi all, i've recently qualified from the coventry building workshop with 17th edition and part p. I know i'm probably the "anti-christ" to a lot of you but I have had 10 years woking as a data installer so know th industry quite well!! I only intend to add small numbers of sockets and take on small installs. Bigger jobs will be given to my sparky mates!! I quite enjoyed the course but didnt really get much info on testing. Does anyboy know any good books I could get to read up on it? I'v bought a Meggar 1552 tester but dont really know what i'm doing with it!!! Certainly won't be taking on work until i'm more familier... Any advice would be really welcome!

christopher kitchers guide to installation testing. a must get guide to testing.

and don't forget the beano annual for when you're sitting on your arse waiting for the phone to ring.

Cheers Guys, I'll be investing heavily with both time and money. Plan to test my own place from top to bottom to get some decent experience first. Already had a decent amount of jobs come in but have used subbies. Ideally would like to register with niceic once I'm suitably experienced!!

That was ment to say I wasn't to hot on testing and got 100% in the exam.....just stick you head in the OSG section for testing.......and don't get to caught up to much on the con of ring final......it's straight forward when you break it down in sections.......make a circuit on a board in the garage, have a dis board.....two copper pipes for water and gas.....a ring final with couple of sockets and a spur, a one and two way lighting circuit, and a cooker circuit.....

B6, nice postcode, home of my once successful football team!! 5 day course for £399 sounds very tempting. Would you advise me to get some more experience before booking in??
I've heard Niceic are a bit of a pain to deal with but aren't they the peeps all customers want you to be registered with?

You don't actually need the 2392 qualification it seems but are more in need of the learning associated with it so you have to find a training centre who gives you that instead of one who just gives you the knowledge to pass the exam.
