Favourite brand for sockets?

Hi all,

Just interested in what everyone's favourite brand for sockets is with regards to looks and quality.

I prefer the look of MK and find Crabtree easier to connect.

The only thing I don't like about click mode is the SFCU they make as they don't have a cord grip. Pain in the backside if you want to come out surface with a flex.

Doesn't look as great as the normal cord grip's you see on MK, but the flex outlet on the click mode isn't that bad

if white then telco ones from tlc are really good and value for money. manufactured by knightsbridge.
MK is crap, especially those screws to fix the cable, small screw head gets damaged easily.
had some flat screwless BG on recent job, customers brought it, I expected total nightmare but they werent bad at all.

I like the BG Nexus range, good terminal layout and they have a nice finish to them.

Hager (90%) or MK for me. Like the straight line up of the terminals which makes it nicer to terminate. Never tried the click gear, seen them in Eddys for ages and think they look quite nice but never used them except for the odd light switch.

For me it also depends on what is being installed. I don't like the look of the Hager cooker switches (with a socket) so if I am doing a kitchen I may lean too another brand. The actual switches on them look awkwardly big! For the price I think Hager are hard to beat.

I find customers quite often look astounded if I show them three different sockets asking which one would they like.

Another vote for Hager here. Used to fit Crabtree and Acel slimline (GET) in the past.

Ps: MK sockets are manufactured in Southend in Essex not China

Still out east though.

Showed the customer the fatally flawed website as well as she had socket covers everywhere!

Started using Scheinder now as the MKs arnt as good as they used to be, the terminal screws are really weak.

lol there are 4 which have switches that have failed CL at parents house. the house is only 3 years old lol

how can socket switches seize after less than a year of being switched on and off occasionally
