Discuss Ferrule crimping tool in the Electrical Tools and Products area at ElectriciansForums.net
Looks like an insulated blade crimp rather than a ferrule.Did he really crimp the plastic rather than the ferrule at 1:49?
he would use a turnip. It sounds like Tony Robinson speaking
That's the style I use. I prefer the way it squeezes the ferrule all around into a nice even square which, to me at least, seems to give a good even grip on the cable.I'v found these to be much better: crimps all around the bootlace not just on one side.
Not an answer but another question. Or two? Why do you want to apply a crimp to the shortened cable? Strip it, twist it and torque to the required setting?I need a recommendation for a decent ferrule crimping tool, particularly for shortening RCBO neural and earthing wires for connection into the bars. Thanks.

but I hold no electrical qualifications!
Stranded cable should not be tightened under a screw, it damages the strands. The ferrule keeps the strands together and then the screw tightens onto the ferrule which stops the strands splaying, breaking or twisting. Not an answer but another question. Or two?
