Few Spotlights bulbs gone at same time

Hi All,

Client called recently. Saying few spotlights not working, halfway all 3 of them, living room-kitchen only two works out of 15. Flat newly built, last inspection 2019. I've been told by client that bulbs gone more or less st the same time. There was nothing obvious as I've checked, lights switches for possible loose connections(feed at switch), check Voltage at few lights fittings and Zs at last tails, readings are good. I've changed all bulbs, so client has light now.
But I'm curious what might cause to blow few led lights at the same time? Surge? Bad product batch? Lights in other rooms are fine, same lights.
The brand in question is Luceco GU10 lights

Did you fit the lights and if you did, I would not waranttee the lamps.

I did not fit them, I would return them to supplier if it was me

so the client are they willing to pay for the time you sort the lights out. if bulb not shining then change it.to one you can get hands on.

Silly but have you considered led drivers / transformers.

having suffered from losing TV , radio, fridge, etc. All at the same time when the 3 phase in the street was not connected properly. Everyone in the street lost lots!

Are you saying you lost power to all the units during a power down.... or were they all (the whole street) cream crackered as a result of the bad connection?
If so, I would have thought it would make the nationals and TV news. Serious stuff.

All the street - electricity board connected the phases wrongly. Didn’t lose power - they exploded or burnt out

Wow! Sounds like it could have been a mix up with a phase and neutral.....lumping 400v instead of 230v on the supplies. A very basic mistake.
Can't blame that on the new colours and lack of a 'two versions' label.?

Hope everything worked out insurance wise.

There were no transformers, ordinary 230v light fittings. I hope it was just bad batch of gu10 bulbs.

How do you know - you can’t see the cat. Fid you switch the light on to check?

Bad batch of dirt cheap lamps by the sound of it.
Would be interesting to see if the neighbours have the same trouble if their houses were built by same developer.
