I’ve chased out two channels and I’ve applied bonding as a rough coat and im wondering what you all use to finish it off for a smooth joinless finish.

Would multifinish or dob and dab adhesive achieve this finish?

i had a few small chases to do this week, only about a foot long from ceiling down to the new extractor fan and around isolator, i used Gyproc easi fill. did the job, i make it a little dryer than they recommend so it drys off a bit quicker. also used it to fill in the little gaps around holesaw rings in ceiling when running cable through ceiling,

...use it for fixing back boxes?
Really?
I'm not a fan, to be fair.

and no, it doesn't fill gaps as deep as it says, unless you leave it for ages, but for quick, shallow fill it is absolutely brilliant, easy to use, easy to clean up, but very odd texture, so lightweight
the no nonsense own brand one they do lightweight filler or something like it is pretty damn good too, they do a 1 litre tub and the stuff holds its shape and seems a bit different when applying, needs hardly any if at all sanding before painting too.

That's really good going Lee, you have to crack on when nobody's paying for the work though. :)
you sure do...we was flat out at work so I couldn't get any of the lads in to help out. I rewired it in 6 days and the following week I ripped the combi boiler out, moved and added pipe work, fitted an unvented cylinder and a new boiler in a new position.

I use drywall to fill the chases ,as do a lot of plasterers, then a skim coat of multi finish ,it's easier to work with than easy fill , it aint rocket science to get a good finish on chases , buy a little misting sprayer for plants, just need to spend about 40 quid on a trowel, i will match mine with any plasterer.

I thought it was a job for blokes who enjoy one to many Stella's every night :D
A mate from when i was in the forces who was a scouser said that all his old school mates were either plasterers, painter / decorator or bricklayers as that was what was being taught in the prisons at the time! and his mates were all scallies! They got a better education in jail than when out.. He didnt fancy that so became a avionics technician.

I don’t mind a bit of plastering now and again. Though I skimmed out my two story extension and it looked as good as a plasterers job but it felt like my arm was going to fall off. (Never again!!) I don’t know how plasterers can do that every day!
I would build it out with hard wall and easy fill it just so you can leave it to set and sand it rather than keep troweling it up.
