I'm just baffled how a provider would install the meters with the install looking like that.

Must of been a big brown envelope

yes I have commenced an EICR today and going through the 4flats ad found some issues that I have been asked to address as I go. only seen the basement today as couldn't access it on my initial visit, hence my concerns and sound advice needed

I'd be cautious just in case the previous guy bailed because of non payment.

Maybe just do the EICR and issue an invoice.
See how it goes from there.

I have been paid for today on the job, and I have done a different job for the contractor ordering the work and paid for that also, so im not worried on that front, in any case they wont get any paperwork until im fully paid

The sparks haven't followed recommended colours for multi core cables, ie where multicores are used, new colours
Brown live
Grey Neutral
Black Cpc

No right or wrong way, as long as the cores are identified at all terminations and the GY or bare copper CPC isnt used for anything other than earth or CPC

this is how I have found it, the swa sheath wasn't even earthed, which I have done.

not sure how to get around the unsheathed cores

I would have that trunking out for starters swa to close, then 80 amp switch fuse on each sub, then tails from s/f to isolator.
