Fluke vs Megger which one?

This has probably been asked a thousand times before but which MFT would you recommend?
I have used both more so Fluke and find them ok but i do like the idea of the 2 lead loop test on the Megger.
Only really looking for a base model nothing too fancy are there any models through your experiences you would and would not recommend.

I also prefer the Megger. I have had a 1552 for about 8 years now and it's so simple to use. Although it doesn't have the phase rotation function like the Fluke.

I just can't seem to part with it. It's a bit like the wife, I had it for so long, it's become almost like one of the family.

Probably the same if they still sell em, or I may even push the boat out and go for the younger model 1553. I here it has Bluetooth?

Never used a fluke to be honest, always used a megger and own a 1731, you wont go wrong with any bit of kit from them.

I have a Megger MFT1731 and having had a god with a Fluke, Megger all the way for me. Just so simple to use, no fancy menus to get lost in. I can't say for other models but the 1731 does have phase rotation in it along with earth electrode testing functions.

My multimeter is megger and my MFT is a 1552. Have always liked the make. I would like the earth leakage clamp meter but I also like being married.

Tried fluke and didn't like the MFT silly menu and the fact it doesn't auto test on no trip is retarded. I have a Megger 1720 and it's a nice bit of kit, has phase rotation and line-line testing on 3 phase. Simple to use and very reliable, the are robust aswell. That said my Fluke 28-II multimeter is the dogs.

I use a megger 1720 too. Don't go for the 1730(I think it's this one), the bluetooth is a waste of time, apparently it's unreliable and buggy as hell.

Great mft, does the whole lot. I can't say much about the flukes, I've used one in the past when I was subbing, but years ago.

My megger mft 1552 is 10 years old and never lets me down.
Hate fluke with a passion but that's just what I'm used to I guess

I have a collection of units,old and newer,and have found the Megger gear,to be excellent.
They can all have issues,and the more technology contained,the more opportunities for problems arise...together with an increased speed of becoming obsolete.

The 1720,later model,is a cracking unit,and i would probably being adding the newer 1721 to my fleet,when next "collecting".

The primary concern,when picking and keeping such a device,is having both the competence and confidence,to use and understand your results,without worrying about the "how".

This is why a lot of lads,stick to what seem older units,as they become second-nature to use,and allow full concentration on the story they tell,and not what is telling it.

Now and again,use of a different device,can show a useful feature,or a handy function,and obviously no one unit,can please everybody,all the time.

Whenever i encounter one of these interesting features,i always imagine how great it would be,to add it to my favourite machine,but not being able to do so,does not prevent it from still being,my favourite
