the green is the input waveform as expected, and is passed straight through the dimmer when on non-dimmed. the red section is cut trailing edge as preferred by LEDs. it's so-called because the dimmer electronics cut the trailing edge, as opposed to the leading edge.

have done it with the hand-held, but the images posted were from internet.
