Just wondered if it's a no no to run 2 low voltage lights from one FCU

I have wired up sockets and lights to my decking outdoor accessories of course.
From my sockets I have spured of to a RCD FCU from this I have my decking spotlights.

So my question is can I run some LED strip lights to the same FCU I know it will work but is it good practice

Thanks
Dan

Spurring a RCD FCU from a socket to feed lights is not a problem, providing you downgrade the fuse in the FCU accordingly.

However, it says you've installed sockets on the decking also, and that you've wired the RCD FCU from the sockets that you've just wired as well? Not sure if I'm reading it correct, can you please tell us how you've gone about installing the sockets? Because this is where there could be a problem ...

Mark.

Of course you can as long as the correct fuse is fitted in the FCU to provide protection

Do the sockets have RCD protection?

It shouldn't be a problem how I've installed it as I've come from my CU with SWA cable 2.5mm2 underground to an outdoor rcd socket my CU is also split RCD protection. From the double sockets I have gone to my RCD FCU the breaker I've used is a 16A

Okay, well there's not really a problem. Other than the fact you don't need RCD sockets or FCU if you've installed the new circuit on the RCD side of the CU.

Just a side note, new circuits are also notifiable works.
