Fusebox CU With Compact DP RCBOs

We just finished a complete rewire of a very old 3 storey house yesterday, quite challenging and actually exhausting at times and it took 16 days altogether, but I'm really happy with the finished job.
This CU was started at 4.20pm yesterday and completed at 6.55pm including the RCBO tests. [The owners were on their way to spend the weekend there so it had to be finished].
It's not a super neat board and the neutral tails are nigh on impossible to get looking good but more to show how much space these units with the compact devices allow. [Although I still think 25mm tails are a pain in the @rse and tail clamps can be awkward and fiddly, hopefully it's not just me ? ? ]

Were they flexi tails? Having tried them I'd fit 25mm flexi tails every time now even in preference to old style 16mm....

Now that there is so much space, it would be nice if they sold reduced height option boards - the extra height can be a real pain when replacing an existing board....

Looks super neat to me! I've never seen the point of being OCD about making them works of art when practically noone else will see them...

They were flexi tails but still had a certain awkwardness about them, I don't know if it was just the make supplied or because it was the end of a hard week and I was knackered and running low on patience.
Yes a reduced height board would be a great option , I do like a nice neat board as it's the heart of the installation and almost an indicator of the overall installation quality.

Very nice. I wouldn't normally share this photo as I was against the clock on a Friday night and it's a bit rough (new tails, clamp and SPD have since happened!) but it does serve to show how much more space there is with the compact RCBOs:

Lol sure does! I wish I had a photo of the finished board - that only had to work until Monday morning when I started again!

I'm glad you can see I was just kidding Tim , they're more awkward with full height RCBOs anyway, and you can never get older cables as straight as a brand new install.

Last time I used Fusebox (Full size I think), the top splayed worryingly when tightening the outgoing terminals - is that better on the compact ones?

They seem fine to me, bear in mind they specify a fairly low torque for the RCBO terminals.

Yes, the output terminals are 1.2Nm (the busbar is 2.5Nm). What is nice is the values are all printed on the housings next to the screws, so you immediately see the correct torque to use.

Yes my old fashioned torque wrist equates that to as tight as I can get them on the busbar with a big driver and a bit less on the RCBO terminals - just 'nipped up' . ?

Yeah Sometimes I feel that every part of the job needs a specialist tool.
