Hi, I was wondering if any of you have ever used Garo RCBO's. They do a single module dp RCBO which would be handy for TT systems.

They appear to be partnered with Socomec, I've used Socomec for a lot of LV control gear.

Good quality, a lot of their items appear to been clones of eaton moller.

I can't guarantee their quality, maybe buy for one job and see how you get on? Do they provide CU's designed for a fully populated board of DP RCBO's?

They do boards to accommodate them. I was hoping to get one fitted into a MEM board. The problem I'm having is an intermitting fault on a lighting circuit. This then causes the main 30mA RCBO to trip which takes out a lot of the premises. So I was thinking of changing all the mcb's to double pole rcbo's and changing the main 30ma rcbo to a time delayed one so if there is a fault only the circuit with the fault will disconnect. What do you think?

A very good question, as many or even most Don't!!

They won't fit into a normal CU's busbar arrangemet being DP, that's what Rob was getting at, when asking his question about the CU situation....

Yes I see what you mean. If I used 30mA rcbo's single pole and changed the main 30mA rcbo to a time delayed one, would the single pole operate on a N-E fault before the time delayed one?

Depends if were talking about a TT system here or not. SP are not advised for TT systems. they'll trip first alright, but the N-E fault will remain in place....
The upfront RCD will not be a RCBO, it'll be an S type RCD...

Yes it will operate before the time delayed one, but it won't clear it so the time delayed one will also operate after the time delay has elapsed.

single pole switched neutral RCBO's will be fine for TT systems. If you had an upfront 100ma S type RCD and a neutral/earth fault developed on one of the circuits having a SPSN RCBO will isolate the neutral on that circuit.

Just had a look at some Hager (The make I usually use) RCBOs that one site says are 'SPSN'. However, when I look at the datasheet, it says they are Single Pole Solid Neutral. This is highly confusing.

Also use a tails gland and clamp if available and make sure tails are secured to a wall. The danger here is a live to earth fault in the Consumer Unit
