Discuss gas meter earth bonding in the Electrical Wiring, Theories and Regulations area at ElectriciansForums.net

Yeah but " my electrician says I need it, but there is an earth at the socket already. Why don't you just connect to that" (eyes rolling). When will customers stop going on forums and asking questions to try and catch out their electrician

For the genuine replies, I say thank you.
For the other comments, i say, it doesn't encourage novices or customers to post actual concerns and/or questions.
Thanks

If you are an electrician its rather worrying that such a basic piece of knowledge is missing. Either that or your on the wind-up

This question can't be posted by an electrician in any way shape or form, if it is by someone with the " C&G level 3 in Inspecting and testing of electrical equipment" he must of got someone else to take his place on the course using his name. I wonder if he's a member of any of the scams lol

But you shouldn't be ****ing about with something so dangerous if you don't know the basics. Electricity kills and doesn't give a warning because you new / DIYer etc. Don't mess with what you don't understand

With the greatest respect, this is an electricians forum, and basic knowledge is expected. There are members here who will tell a DIY'er how to rewire a house, but personally I find that irresponsible.

That's the name given to the 2377 exam, i.e Portable Appliance Testing. Guess it's no surprise he knows nothing about fixed wiring, if that's all he's got.

As 99% of people on here will agree, I am apparently a DIY'er (although I'm a time served sparx, 17th edition and 2391 qualified) and would usually support a genuine question and fight that a valid response should be given, your question is absolutely ridiculous.

Being a qualified electrician, you should at least have put some thought I'm to your question before asking it...

The claim is/was on his profile so it must be true. Mustn't it?:)

To be honest i rarely look at profiles!! lol!!

The term ''Qualified'' is banded about all too freely these day's, that no-one can determine it's actual meaning anymore!! Based on the OP of this thread, it doesn't mean too much. He is probably far more qualified in the area of Landscape Gardening!! lol!!
