Thats why its best practise to have its own RCD. Regs say if buried in wall less than 50mm RCD has to be installed.

moggy are you suggesting i do not use an rcd at all, feels dangerous?

if it's not required under 7671 then yes.
7671 is there to ensure public safety from electrical installations, so if 7671 says it's not needed, then it isn't dangerous to omit one.
however, installing a solar installtion that affects the operation of the domestic RCD definately is!

GO TO BED MAN!!

you've got a big day tomorrow, you'll be fine, just make sure you connect the meter up the right way round (classic mistake for newbies!)

insomnia rules!:coffee:

murphy's law anything that could go wrong went wrong and we have to finish the job tomorrow an hour and halfs work left and still gotta test wish me luck

cant find anything on hear about testing mini invertors gonna do normal ac testsupto unplugged output of last mini invertor. any comments keep them coming i will check when i get up thanks people

Do a quick Voc and Ioc check on each panel before installing to the microinverters (though tbh the failure rate for most panels is in the a few in a million mark, and all you're really risking is having to get back up there to replace a panel if it does fail as you should be able to see which panel there's a problem with via the microinverter software anyway).

I'd expect you should have a seperate AC isolator for the string inverter circuit and the microinverter circuit as well btw - partly needed so you can test the microinverter circuit without blowing up the other inverter (though I suppose you could just disconnect it)

it should be two strings but one cable

you should be going from panels to isolator to inverter

then from inverter some t+e down to board (cant remember how exactly you do generation meter)

the guy i was with added in a 2 way cu as you need some form of isolation as well as a breaker so a cu is better imho
