GMES......that work looks really interesting...i used to do machine builds and refurbs when i was an apprentice (at the time i couldnt wait to get out and get ****ed) now looking back it was really interseting stuff.

is this your main job? i.e building generators or are you a maintenance engineer?

No Ste I am an industrial electrician, mainly installation work 3 phase power boards etc nearly all 3 phase really ,today as an example we are replacing a load of 3phase busbar with the tap offs to 10 cnc machines, I also did a lot with the big American tyre shredders Granutech.
Also got 2 large factories to test over the next couple of weeks. Always something different which is how I like it Mate.

Yes mate, do quite a bit of machinery, Tyre shredders, packaging machines, industrial ovens and furnaces + much more which means I provide a Breakdown service to all my regular customers, there are a few that run 24/7 but I am usually safe after about 10pm.
Regarding years I have been at it for about 15 years now, so not as long as some of the old boys on here.

Looks like you have a great job mate, lots of variety so always busy.....if your'e ever working up Newcastle way and need an unpaid hand, id jump at the chance....

Not that I ever get to work on any of it but we have a lot of old square d busbar and tap offs in our place

I ripped out a ton of that very same busbar a month or so back, skipped the lot, tap offs the lot, if I'd have known you could
Have had em

Typical that mate, it just cost the customer 2500.00 in replacement Canalis busbar but luckily the old tap offs were compatible.
