Get a shock when you touch sink and oven at same time??

I understand this could be because there is no bonding, but just want to know how it’s possible for the pipework/sink to become live?? Is it through a fault on another circuit finding it’s way to the pipework?

Other way round.

There is probably a fault on the oven that is not earthing via the oven circuit earth.

When you touch the sink, you and the water pipework are providing the earth path.

Get it looked at pronto.

As above, get an electrician in ASAP to get it checked out.

I would also isolate the power to the oven by switching the breaker off / removing the fuse in the consumer unit / fuse box, until an electrican has been to check out the fault

True, but it might still happen if the MET is not connected and the oven-sink touch is the only place leakage gets to flow.

Not something to use your body to check!!!

As you say, this needs professional investigation ASAP.

Take notice on what other chaps are saying ! this is seriously dangrous turn the oven off till you get it checked theres potential for serious injury or death here.
