guidance note 3 6th edition worth buying or wait for the 7 edition

wait till all the Electrical Trainee's buy the new one , then pick up the current one cheap. can't see there'll be much difference.

I heard somewhere [citation needed] that although the BYB comes out on 5 January, the guidance notes won't be updated for a few months after that.

Important changes to the EIC and EICR forms make Guidance Note 3: Inspection & Testing a priority for all those carrying out inspection and testing on electrical installations. *
Additional changes to this book from the expected updates to Amendment No. 3 include:
Changes to earth fault loop impedances for all protective devices
Earth electrode testing
Amendment No. 3 publishes on 5 January 2015 and comes into effect on 1 July 2015. *All new installations from this point must comply with Amendment No. 3 to BS 7671:2008. Guess it's worth waiting few months to get the new one then. Doesn't the new one effect the 2394 2395. I've paid 125 for my 2381-12 passed. does that mean I have to do another one again when the byb comes out

All speculation at the minute until it is released no one is 100% certain of any changes to BS7671 which is why the GN books are always released several months later.

Do you Mean you have just Paid ÂŁ125 for C&G 2382-12 if so then no You only have to pay and take the exam again when the 18th comes out.
The New version of GN3 will affect 2394-95 when it comes into force so if you take them before this date you will answer questions to old version and after the new one comes into force the questions will be based on that

Is GN3 likely to change very much? The way I see it is that the same tests will be required in the same order and any changes, for example, to maximum allowable Zs or to how details are recorded will be detailed in the BYB
