Hawkesworth Testing - Anyone here work for them..?

I am really shocked by some of the comments on this thread! I have been City & Guilds qualified for just over a year 4 years pat ex, i can just about do 200 appliances per day. Thats with no lunch break... then the knees start to go numb!
Im either a bit to clean with my work or there are a lot of 'PAT Engineers' who just can not be arsed to do the job properly!

Karma . . . . . .

Seems there are a few here that has no idea about testing class 11 appliances/equipment, or what the HT probe lead is for, in PAT testing!! Does no-one actually take the trouble to read the PAT testers manufactures manuals anymore?? It seems that some here, really do NEED too!! Remarkable really!!!

Everything negative said about this company is correct. I worked between 2007-8 and they're bad to work for. You go the extra mile for them until you burn yourself out and they bin you. Their testing regime is a case of are the stickers on straight. And yes C. C. Doesn't use a probe like you should for class 2 and he's their best guy or should I say informer. Stay well clear of this lot - they're cowboys. And by the way the docs they get you to sign re not working in the industry after you've finished with them isn't worth the paper it's printed on. They'd laugh at you at the job centre!!

The docs will most likely be a restrictive covenant and its enforcement, or otherwise, would be through legal channels and not the jobcentre plus - it’s not really their remit. In saying that I would debate Hawksworths chances of successfully implementing any such restriction on an individual’s ability to earn a living.

The problem here is that PAT has been devalued to such an extent the scheme providers who badge some of these companies just dont care and a bit like the Levison enquiry when he asked a witness do you think we need a law on phone hacking and the reply was we already have a law on it but nobody enforces it and there lies the problem in our trade there are rules and regulations but no one wants to enforce it and as the Part P enquiry said that there was a conflict of interests where the Scheme providers dont want to rock the boat with companies who are registered with them. Also the EICR environment is going the same way as PAT with the £60 tests so all these companies have to do is set up Ltd status get registered with a Scheme provider and basically flogged the life out of the business and if they get pulled up then they fold and start up again and sadly this is the country we live in
