RCD Fault

Guys got a fault on RCD can't get it to stay on even with tape,

Im looking for an easy fix as can't be bothered to use my own skills to resolve the issue and heard people love to help out with daft questions???

Re: RCD Fault

Amateur!!!

Bypass it with two bits of 1.5.

Surely a coat hanger from the cupboard would be cheaper?

On a more thread orientated note, I have had to do a distance course as nobody would take me on for an apprenticeship or give me the time of day - even for free labour. Well, one person did but I didn't go back after his initial testing involved a functional test prior to continuity and no IR test as 'it's a new install'.
Anyway. I have had to do this course to try give me the best start to get a job. I'm about to do my 2394 written and have achieved regs, 2377, level 2 2330 and level 3 2365. I've had 2 years with a PV company, technically sound guys and gave me some design, installation and testing but hasn't given me any 'real' experience. I have been applying for jobs of all positions and noone seems to want to take me on, most of the reasons have been that I don't have enough relevant experience.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that these courses offer an opportunity to get quals to then give a chance of a job, I haven't found this and I suppose it puts people in a position where they have to start doing things on their own and do not know what to do when they come accross real-life situations and have to post on here to have a chance at rectifying the issue(s). I fully accept I have had not had enough practical experience to know what to do in every situation!

In my opinion the way to prevent this 'clownism' is possibly a more practical route with placements, though I appreciate how hard it is to take someone on that would potentially slow your work rate right down! I suppose suggestions from the more learned and available 'employers' on how to prevent it, rather than moaning about it, could provide a decent outcome?

Any ideas?
