Hi folks, just a quick intro...
Recently re-certified my Approved Grade card (SJIB)..Last one ran out in 2000 and have been in oil and gas industry since (still am).
Have started a side business doing domestic works for a local building contractor.
Looking into NICEIC or SELECT registration once i've been trading 6 months but not sure if my business model will support paying the fees etc.
Things have changed a lot since i last did domestic works so this forum has been a great help so far in getting up to speed as well as the 17th edition courses i did for regrading.

Cheers

D

Welcome to posting on the forum.
I hope the business venture works OK.
If you are just doing occasional jobs and the building contractor and his customers are not requiring registration then it is probably not a good value choice.
However both NICEIC and SELECT are pushing for registration to happen so it may be that you will have to register soon, however it is possible that once it is a requirement then the other schemes may move into Scotland as well.
