had a play about today, defiantly the rcd main switch, interesting as iv not seen this before, you learn something new every day!!
 
I explained this exact situation to my NICEIC assessor a few weeks ago. He just frowned at me, I guess he learnt something himself that day.
 
i explained it to the napit assessor today and he said its becoming a lot more regular these days with all the split-loads going in!

It's true, also, the amount of Zs tests performed on the 'no trip' setting for rcd protected circuits will be increasing rapidly, along with the inaccuracy that we get with that type of measurement!
 
almost makes you think zs tests on these type of circuits are pointless.....


Yes, on periodics, we frequently find that Zdb+(R1+R2) is more accurate than a Zs test on 'no trip' and that goes for our 2 Megger MFT's and a Fluke 1653.
