Hello, I want to replace an old key type alarm panel for a numeric button type panel. Can anyone please help with the wiring. There appears to be two cables with six wires and two cables with four wires, My system has magnetic door points and a motion sensor in the living room. I would just like to understand what the wiring serves so that I can choose a new alarm panel and wire it up. The current one has two zones and there is a blank cable that was for a future garage connection. I have uploaded more photographs to my album and I hope that I have used the correct settings so that you can see the images.

I should point out that I have uploaded an image of a Honeywell alarm panel that I would like to use and would be gratful if anyone can advise of how I should wire the connections based on the other photo's.

Thanks

Adrian

with all due respect, this is really not a DIY job. a competent alarm installer/engineer/electrcian should be able to do it professionally in an hour or 2.

You have an old A&G 2 zone and are trying to replace it with an Optima compact G4 fine . One thing to look out for is that this could have been installed around 30 years ago where some alarm guys not being electricians would connect the mains to the panel across the incoming mains cable so check that you can isolate the mains supply. Plus you dont say what experience you have ie a basic understand of electrics
