Help!!!!

Just wired up a socket in my kitchen, don't worry I am part p qualified and 17th edition qualified,when I plug the kettle in the toaster blows the fuse box, I only have some silver foil and no fuse wire, will that be okay until I get to screwfix in the morning? or will I have to stick a 6" nail across it as I hear silver foil can be dangerous? thanks for your help fellow electricians, oh one last question do I need to Bond the kitchen sink even though it is plastic? I have looked in my on site guide and it doesn't mention anything and I need to get this right as I have a yearly inspection from Napit in 2 weeks time and want to show off this job to the inspector.

Can you describe the 'funny' noise, my wife is nagging about how late I got back home after t&i tonight, so anything 'funny' would be most welcome at the mo...

Just tell her you think her eyes look like stars, she will be so gobsmacked it will keep her quiet for a few minutes and then you can slip out the door and get down to your local lol

Sounds like a major fault . Why not bypass the consumer unit and henley block the problematic piece of equipment straight to the meter tails .

just stab the tails in with a bit of bluetac to hold....

trust me it works....i saw it the other day....

Just put plenty round it mate, don't want anybody getting electric shocks.

Yer and my mate the chippy reckons, you don't need the earth anyway, he reckons it will still work ok without it.

I have decided not to bond the sink, there are no earth wires anywhere near it, even the cooker point doesn't have one, do you think the Napit inspector will pick me up on that?

FFS you have to bond the sink, the Napit geezer will go ape
