Help!

Hi, i've just installed a dab pioneer headunit into my 1979 mini van.
i wired it too the igntion so that it turns off when i take the key out
however eachtime i start it back up i have to reset the clock and retune
it. Theres is a second wire too connect too the battery so the clock never
needs resetting or anything. Do i need a fuse in the wire between the
headunit and the battery? There is a number 10 fuse sticking out the back
of the headunit so would that mean i could just wire the radio too the battery
without another fuse?

Second wire needs to be connected to a permanent live.

Sorry, didn't read properly. Just fit a inline fuse near the battery.

Ahh i see, what size fuse does it need to be?

Usually the fuse size would be according to the size of the wiring but if there's a 10A fuse at the head unit then just make the in-line fuse the same size.

i'd be more inclined to fit a 2A. it's only the memory feed, mA.

Commonly a 10A, or as telectrix said a 2A. Also if your putting in a direct feed to the battery, fuse it as close as possible to the battery.
