Water isn’t very conductive, otherwise I’d have been blown up many years ago. 2.6MW being feed through water-cooled cables and coils worked fine for me.

But as it’s domestic you should really run a 10mm to the tap ! ! ! !

I would run the cable anyways, especially if the floor is gonna be up.

Plus, it should still be bonded if the install is all copper, even if the incommer is plastic.

A terrorist could dump aluminium sulphate in reservoir, making its way into households, this, coupled with the latest solar flare could cause the plastic to crack et voici your extraneous part is realized.

Have you performed an Insulation Resistance test in the metal tap to make sure it is not an extraneous conductive part?

Bond it with plastic cable (no need for copper inside), looks great and it's cheaper

or run in a length of earth sleeving and tie both ends. fill sleeving with water so it's conductive.
