Hi All!
This forum asked me to introduce myself so I shall!
I am an electronic engineer who is switching to an electrical path instead. Long story short, I can't cope with office environments with people who constantly challenge each other when designing circuits/products which always results in arguments.
I have known for years that I am much better suited in an environment where I can interact with people on a non-technical level. So I have decided to persue the path of an electrician so I can achieve the following:
Currently I am doing a domestic electrican course and must say it is ABSOLUTLEY fantastic! Despite the fact I have done electronics for the better part of 8 years it was amazing to see how LITTLE I knew about ring circuits, radial cicuits, correct earth bonding and all the other factors that come in. After reading the first few chapters of my book it made me realise how stupid it is that anyone can walk into B&Q, buy some electrical parts and not be questioned if they are qualified to install them.
So there's all of that! On an other note, once I complete the course I have already chosen the CDV I will drive!
While I wont beable to help other members here about electrics (as you guys will know more than I will and will have me on my arse most of the time), I am happy to answer electronic based questions regarding the following:
Circuit Theory
Semi-conductors
Component choices
Design related stuff (both analogue and digital)
Just dont ask me about radio!
All the best,
Robin
:tongue3:

I have known for years that I am much better suited in an environment where I can interact with people on a non-technical level. So I have decided to persue the path of an electrician so I can achieve the following:
- Potentially have a landscaping business where I can install water features AND certify the work myself
- Grow my current business (which will remain nameless otherwise mods will think I am spamming), so that I can produce and sell my own custom power protection units
- Just general domestic electrican work
